Modern Maladies - YUPPIE YIPS
YUPPIE YIPS – As periodic guests of pharmaceutical symposia in the Maldives will know, the yips is an affliction aligned with golf. Put simply, you stand on the green, the hole a metre away. You cannot miss; you miss. Yet a research paper from Augusta State has put forward that executive golfers, much in caddie fashion, have carried the disorder from clubhouse to penthouse.
Symptoms are clear: undue systolic pressure when conducting no-brainer share floats, inflamed central nervous system during regulation audits and erratic demergers traced to an overly tight grip on the helm. Ironically a week in the Maldives does wonders.
