Acronym Acrimony
This is a story of two towns - Eden and Merimbula. Both stand on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, close to the Victorian border, and both have different blessings to count.
Eden is a fishing town. It works hard, plays hard. Twofold Bay is alive with trawlers and mussel leases. Just as the pubs down Imlay Street are alive with blue-collar brothers.
Merimbula, on the other hand, about twenty kilometers north, thrives on tourism, especially from the interstate hordes who hit the resort every Christmas. Growing at a dizzy rate, Merimbula loves to stir its rowdy neighbour by saying EDEN, the letters, stand for Everyone Drunk Every Night.
Fine. If that’s the case, then I say it’s time for Eden-ites to wreak some revenge of their own. What could the letters of Merimbula represent? How about: Melbourne Elite Regularly Invade Modest Beach Under Lease Agreement.
